Panel Jack Repair Kit
A Panel Jack holds its load because of two spring-loaded cams inside the workhead. When you pump the handle, one cam bites the bar and drives the head forward, while the other cam locks each stroke in place. After heavy use, the springs lose tension and the cam edges wear, so the jack slips, creeps or won’t hold a load. This kit replaces both wear parts so your jack grips and holds like new.
Kit Includes
- 2 replacement cams (gripping plates)
- 2 heavy-duty replacement springs
Fits
Installation
- Remove the rod and handle casting from the workhead.
- Take out the old cams and springs.
- Fit the new springs and cams, using the tape-and-insert method to compress the springs and seat them.
- Reassemble and check that both cams move smoothly under spring tension.
When to Rebuild
The jack slips back under load, takes extra pumps to move, or the cams no longer snap back on their own.
